Who we are

A small studio that does one thing carefully.

MyKindCoats opened in 2024 in Prenzlauer Berg. It started with two groomers who'd worked in larger Berlin pet salons and wanted a place where sessions had more time, the same groomers showed up each week, and owners didn't feel pressured into add-ons they didn't need.

We're not a chain and we don't want to be. The studio stays small on purpose.

How MyKindCoats came to be

Both founders spent several years working in pet grooming in Berlin before starting MyKindCoats. They noticed that busy salons often meant sessions were rushed, pets were anxious, and owners ended up switching places every few months looking for someone their dog would actually tolerate.

The idea was simple: keep the team small enough that regular clients see the same person each time. Work by appointment only so sessions don't feel hurried. Take the time to explain what we're doing and why — especially for first-time pet owners.

MyKindCoats is based at Prenzlauer Allee 182, close to the heart of Prenzlauer Berg. Most of our clients come from the neighbourhood — Prenzlauer Berg, Mitte, Friedrichshain — though we're happy to welcome anyone from across Berlin.

We're honest about what we can and can't do. We won't take every booking. If a dog or cat needs a consultation first, or if we think a different approach would suit them better, we'll say so.

Things we actually care about

No rush, ever

Sessions aren't stacked back-to-back. If your dog needs extra time to settle, that's fine. We'd rather finish properly than quickly.

Consistent groomers

We keep the team small so your pet sees a familiar face each visit. It makes a noticeable difference for anxious dogs and cats.

Honest about limitations

We don't take every booking. Pets with a history of reactive behaviour need a short consultation before their first visit. Heavy de-matting may take multiple sessions. We'll tell you this upfront.

Pet safety first

All team members have completed Pet First Aid training. We stop a session early if a pet is too stressed — a partial groom done calmly is better than a full one done badly.
